Inspiration
For me, art begins long before color meets a surface.
It begins where something gets stuck in me: a thought from science, a sentence from philosophy, a sound that suddenly changes a memory – or a quiet moment in which darkness does not threaten, but opens.
What drives me
Standing on the edge of cliffs is something I know not only from landscapes.
There are also these edges inside: places where you briefly feel that you could give up.
And that’s exactly where I get the impulse to go on – not out of hardness, but out of curiosity.
In the dark, I often find the beginning of something bright.
What I draw from
I move between worlds that otherwise rarely touch:
precise observation and open intuition, structure and feeling, control and loss of control.
I am interested in the transitions – the seconds in which something changes and suddenly becomes legible in a different way.
How this becomes visible in my works
I translate this tension into layers:
A digital composition serves as a stage, acrylic and oil painting gives body and weight, and a UV layer reveals a second truth if necessary.
Not as an effect – but as an invitation to take a closer look.
Because the strongest moments are often not the loud ones, but those that only reveal themselves at second glance.
